Greetings Brethren,
I hope all of you are doing well while watching the crocus, iris, daffodil and dandelion introduce Spring. We've had a
mild winter this past season but, even if it would have been a rough one, it wouldn't have stopped our Lodge from accomplishing so much.
To begin with, our Lodge "modernization" is almost complete and coming uncannily on financial target.
Elevator, new lighting (inside and out), new electric service, handicapped accessibility, new storage, upgraded bathrooms and much more. A fantastic job managed by our building committee with the financial help of all of you! Thank you to all who pledged financial help and came through. We
still need those of you who haven't sent in your pledge to do so as soon as you can.
Soon we will be sending two boys to Camp Turk for their first time, supporting the 2000 Red Hook Little League season and
getting ready to provide scholarships to Red Hook students.
We are in preparation for numerous other charitable activities that you, as a member of our Lodge, help support. Be proud to be a Mason, a part of the most unique fraternity in the world and the best Lodge around these parts.
There's so much to cover in this Trestleboard but, I really hope you won't just scan it. Please read a bit more than you
can normally tolerate and really look hard at the calendar of events at the bottom of this because there is a lot going on that you can participate in
We had a great turnout (over 60 folks) for Father Charlie Coen's Irish music concert at our Lodge. He presented a very
musically entertaining and educational evening which generated a ton of compliments from the attendees.
To boot, he unwittingly committed to do the concert on Ash Wednesday which, normally, would have precluded his involvement. But, being an Irish gent, he did it anyway. I've been chastised for not offering him something stronger than our coffee after the concert. Ah well....
Anyway, at our next meeting on 4/12, Fred Briggs, Red Hook antiquarian and collector of Masonic memorabilia, will be
displaying his collection of Masonic badges, buttons and "stuff". It should be very interesting. I suppose if you have any Masonic items of antiquity, you ought to bring them along to talk about.
There is so much happening in April for our Lodge that it would take a couple of pages to describe.
At the beginning of my term as Master, I promised short and concise Trestleboards. So, I will again ask you to check out the calendar below and attend as much of the events as your cable tow will allow.
So here goes a description of a very full calendar........
